Do unto others as u want them to do unto u...

i've heard this upteem number of times... especially from my brother when i don't do something he asks for... he says this and then adds on saying... is this what u want me to do when u ask me for a favor ??? pretty taunting thing to say...

it makes me wonder one thing... if i continue to be good to a mean person cos i want the other person to be nice to me, then at some stage in life the mean person shud turn around n be nice to me... is that rite... ???

well, let's look at it from the mean person's end.... since he is being mean to me... he expects me to be mean to me... so it is not wrong if i am mean to the person... is that rite... ???

hmmm... now did i just get myself into a potential deadlock situation here ??? i'll be deadlocked if the meanie knos "do unto others..." funda... If he doesn't, then i've a choice to be nice to him or bug him back...

all this set aside... i came across a wonderful counter phrase that i've used since the time i found it... it goes like this... "Do not do unto others as u want them to do unto u, cos he mite not want the same things as u do"... this is a funda i live by these days...

Forgive n forget...

how many times in ur life have u heard this ??? Hundreds of times... ???

Is it really possible to make urself forget something in life ??? My understanding of memory is that I don't have control over what I can erase from it... I kno I can work towards adding stuff to it, but I don't know how to work towards forgetting... How did this phrase originate ??? Did someone practice and preach or is it one of the millions of adivices ppl have for others...

I've tried forgiving a few times... And have succeeded in some instances... But forgetting... Hmmm.... I've never got a hang of how to do that...

looks like I need help... :)
